Designed as a compact Every Day Carry and bushcraft knife, the Game Warden knife is pure utility.
Hand forged from 1/8" thick O1 tool steel, the 3 7/8" leaf-shaped drop point blade has a convex Scandi grind that excels at cutting tasks; whether field dressing meat for the freezer, or prepping a fire to cook it on. The squared spine will strike a shower of sparks from a fero rod, or scrape fatwood and bark for tinder.
The handle has a shapely coke-bottle profile for a secure grip, and the scales are a homemade green and black canvas Micarta that is weatherproof and get even grippier when wet. The scales are secured to the tang with solid brass bolts.
The tang extends beyond the end of the handle, giving a small striking surface for when you just need to bash something, and a tapered lanyard hole for attaching a strap.
Included with the knife is a compact welted and riveted sheath made from thick veg-tanned leather, with a hand carved woodgrain motif.
This was one of my favorites, but as I get the shop ready to get back into the swing of things, it's time to let it go. The Game Warden is sure to be a terrific companion on the streets or forest trails.
