Mors Kochanski was an outdoorsman of tremendous renown. A wilderness survival instructor to militaries in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and Sweden, he was known around the world for his outdoor knowledge and skills. His book, Bushcraft, is required reading for anyone spending time outdoors in the North. In addition to the invention of the Super Shelter, he is credited with the design of the Skookum Bush Tool, an extremely practical outdoors knife. The Boreal is an homage to that design.
With a Scandi-ground, 1/8" thick blade of O1 Tool Steel, the Boreal is robust enough for all your bushcrafting adventures. The single bevel and continuous blade curvature makes woodworking tasks a breeze. The hilt, hand carved from birch roasted right here in-house, features a "coke-bottle" profile for maximum retention and comfort in any number of grips. The blade spine has been left at 90 degrees for the scraping of tinder, or for striking sparks off of a fero rod, or for use with a shard of flint for primitive fire starting.
