Due to the popularity of the last Ötzi dagger, I've decided to make more! Inspired by the small flint dagger found on the mummified corpse of Ötzi the Iceman high in the Tyrolean Alps, this small neck knife combines Neolithic style with modern materials.
The handforged blade is reminiscent of knapped arrowheads, and is deeply triangular in profile. Double edged and hand-textured, the blade is made of 5160 spring steel, and is slotted into a handle of purpleheart. The short tang is pinned with brass rod and whipped with epoxy saturated jute cordage.
Complimenting this piece is a neck sheath of carved heavy duty vegetable tanned leather that has been double stitched and fixed with solid copper rivets. A latigo thong passes through eyelets for a comfortable and easily accessible around the neck carry.
