Based on Trade knives of the late 18th and early 19th century, and commonly known as "scalpers", this style of knife would have been common on the belts of longhunters, voyageurs, mountain men and anyone else venturing out on the Frontier.

The multi-purpose blade is adept at numerous outdoor chores, such as dressing and skinning game, butchering, food preparation, and is fairly adequate at whittling. At 6" in length, the blade is lightly antiqued, and has a full convex grind for its entire length.

What really shines is the handle scales, which were harvested from a cherry tree burl and have an amazing grain pattern.

Included with this knife is a single-seam moulded pouch-style sheath with a long leather thong for tying to a belt or bag.
